From May 20-22, a team of volunteers went to Chirripo to help with varios projects.
It was an honor to have Dr. Charlie Record, from England and Dr. Mike Eisses, from Washington State organize and bring numerous medications for the Sinoly community. They treated patients for different illnesses related to malnutrition, poor sanitation, etc.
During the 3 day trip, the group accomplished the following:
- Medical consultation for kindergarten and grade 1 students at the School in Sinoly
- Medical consultation for the Sinoly community and surrounding areas, held at the VQC Sinoly Mission Center.
- Bible class for kindgergarten children at the Primary school in Sinoly
- Distributed the ‘Little Suns’ solar flashlights, donated by Healdsburg Rotary Club. These flashlights will help them have light in the evenings to study and to be able to walk around the mountainous pathways.
- Installed 2 solar panels at the Sinoly High School.
- Spent quality time with their Cabecar indigenous friends and brought them food.
Testimony from CISA student joining the trip, Charlie Record
“Thank you so much for an unforgettable and thoroughly enjoyable trip to Chiripo. Everything was organised so well, the food was delicious, the company excellent and the walk and scenery gorgeous. The people in Sinoli were so lovely and I was touched by their welcome. I found the trip helped me along my spiritual path and enriched my relationship with God”.
