Christmas Season Activities
We had a busy Christmas season at VQC Mission! Many exciting activities were happening during the month of December!
We had the privilege of doing a special Christmas activity with the indigenous community of Chirripo on December 23. We drove for 2 hours into a remote area where we had arranged to meet the families. Close to 80 men, women and children were waiting there anticipating for our Christmas activities to begin. We played games with the children and fed everyone a delicious lunch. The special part of the day occurred when we were able to pass out Christmas gifts to all the children. Thanks to the donations from many generous people, the children were thrilled and most grateful. Afterwards, we were able to distribute school supplies, as well as clothing for all the families. It was a beautiful day, full of laughter, smiles, food and much blessing.

On December 24, VQC Mission held a special Christmas service. We had many new families attend our service who were able to hear the Christmas story and join in singing Christmas carols. We also had visitors from Canada and the US who celebrated Christmas with us. We all enjoyed a nice Christmas Eve dinner together, sharing stories and memories.
On New Year’s Day we took a group of 14 people on a hike into the Chirripo Mountains to minister to the indigenous community who have lived there for many years. Our 3 day trip was a huge success, as God blessed us with the most ideal weather conditions. On this particular trip we took 5 Americans and 3 Canadians and they all were thoroughly impacted by the experience. We all helped do a craft with the children, played some games and also joined in their evening worship services. Their Pastor had even asked the English speakers to sing some songs in front of the congregation, as they were eager to hear some English songs! We were all thoroughly blessed by the generosity and warmth of the people. We will continue doing ministry with them in the coming year.
VQC Mission Center Construction
The construction for our new Mission center will begin January 2007. We welcome our Canadian and American friends to come and give a helping hand!
In order to help reduce the cost of construction, we are seeking out help from skilled workers who have experience with installing gypsum ceilings, floor tiling and painting.
If this project tugs at your heart and you would be interested in learning more ways to be involved, we would love to hear from you!
